Yep, even including redoing higher tiered zones, I'm rapidly approaching a state where there's no incentive to keep doing so. You can't pump that much into either once you unlock the research options.
Yes, the whole whopping 1 Follower per rescue, 5 if you're lucky, with an estimated average of 5 - 8 Followers per mission - again: If you're lucky.
